Maya's journey began at FACE (Fine Arts Core Education), a high school in Montreal, where she immersed herself in various artistic disciplines. From choir and drama classes to instrumental training, Maya's early exposure to music nurtured her passion and set the stage for her future endeavours. Initially aspiring to be an actor, Maya found solace and creative freedom in music, where she could express herself without seeking permission. This newfound liberation fueled her desire to pursue a career in music.

Fate intervened when Maya met her bandmates at a karaoke bar, leading to the formation of her band. Serendipitous encounters and relentless dedication propelled Maya's career forward. The pivotal moment arrived when she received the life-changing opportunity to open for Tegan and Sara at the prestigious Metropolis venue. Reflecting on this milestone, Maya describes how their music had inspired her as a young artist, validating her own unique voice and style.

Growing up near the iconic Neon store in Saint-Denis, Maya reminisces about the influence it had on her fashion choices. Neon, along with other notable landmarks, became part of her childhood memories and connected her to her roots. A crucial aspect for an artist constantly on the move - a comfortable shoe. She recently convert to the comfort and style of Birkenstocks, she praises their durability and back support - something to carry her through rehearsals, performances, and the demands of her creative process.

Maya's solo project, initiated in 2020, has gained momentum with remarkable achievements, including winning a prize with Canada's Walk of Fame and RBC. As she eagerly awaits the release of her first solo album, Maya shares her enthusiasm for her second album, for which she had recently secured a grant. Her unique blend of musical influences, combined with her heartfelt lyrics and captivating voice, promises to deliver an amazing listening experience.
